DeJunne’ (pronounced dee-zhuh-nay)
DeJunne’ is on a mission to make a lasting impact on the lives of children, particularly those struggling with learning and attention issues. Known for her passion and practical guidance for parents, she identifies ways in which students can thrive if given the science-based reading instruction necessary to be successful readers and learners.
As a former classroom teacher and school counselor, DeJunne’ has had the opportunity to work with a myriad of students with general and specific needs. But it was not until her own child began to struggle in school that her awareness of the lack of resources and information available to him (and other struggling students) fueled her desire to learn everything she could to ensure that others wouldn’t experience the same. For her, it was revolutionary to discover his challenges with Dyslexia and ADHD. It was at that time she pursued more specialized training and depth of understanding to become a dyslexia therapist. Combining all of her training and education, DeJunne’ is a nationally recognized Educational Therapist — one of only three in the state of Louisiana.
Most importantly, DeJunne’ has taken all of her experiences as a parent seeking services and as an educator within the public school system and ventured into private practice; determined to help students, parents, and schools with educating students with dyslexia. She is most impassioned about the advocacy she’s curiated surrounding dyslexia awareness, early identification, and remediation. Her community-wide efforts are often seen in her volunteerism within the parent-led, grassroots advocacy group Decoding Dyslexia Louisiana.
As the founder of Learning Fundamentals Educational Therapy & Consulting, Jackson specializes in training and awareness development for parents and teachers of students with dyslexia. DeJunne’ offers insight into proven cooperative strategies and methods for reaching out to schools for help. Her transformative resources help everyday people get the knowledge base needed to affect change. Learning Fundamentals helps to catapult school-avoiding, struggling readers into thriving, eager students. Her agency’s unique and comprehensive programs help parents gain the confidence and clarity to advocate for the much-needed resources within the school setting. Also, her no-holds-bar approach to enlightment most effectively prepares parents for the enevitable pursuits ahead of them.
A relatable and authentic thought leader, organizations such as Families Helping Families, The Association of Educational Therapists, ChooseToDo, Inc., Mompreneurer Nation, Living Her Truth Podcast and more have tapped Jackson to provide awareness presentations. Members of her audience, parents and professionals alike, often remark on her transparent, practical and motivating approach to education and families. Her quick whit is often seen throughout her many social media outlets.
All of this information is simply to let you know that DeJunne’ Clark Jackson is PASSIONATE, DEDICATED, EDUCATED, and INVESTED in making a difference in the lives of littles (no matter how “big” they get).
